GoHighLevel: what users complain about, by module · public sources · Anton Patrai · October 2026

What GoHighLevel users blame it for

Step two of the launch method. Step one audited what the Annuities Genius CRM does today. This step reads public complaints about GoHighLevel, a CRM sold to insurance agents under other brand names, and sorts them by module, so the launch copy answers what agents actually hit, in the order they hit it.

Users blame the company first and the features second. Support and billing are 30% of all complaints. Among features, the mobile app, texting registration, and calls that don't ring lead; email, calendar, and automations trail; quotes and e-applications barely appear.1,927 complaint records from 8 source lanes · 3,803 reviews, posts, and feature requests read · 108 records (5.6%) from insurance agents

Method and counts

Eight lanes read public sources in parallel on September 30 and October 1, 2026, tagged each complaint with one of 14 modules, flagged insurance-agent voices, and kept one verbatim quote with date and link per record. Sub-theme counts are hand tallies; a record can sit in two sub-themes, so treat counts as approximate (plus or minus a few).

The insurance-agent subset

108 records. Nearly all come from insurance-forums.com, r/InsuranceAgent, and comments under "GoHighLevel for insurance" videos, and nearly all concern white labels: Agent CRM, Quility Switchboard, Little Giant, Agent Autopilot. The voices are Medicare, life, and final-expense agents; no annuity agent identified themselves by name.

What they complain about, by size

  • Setup and complexity (21). Not plug and play; paid setup hours or a template; training never shows how to run it. "I found myself spending more time trying to get the system functioning than actually growing my agency." (Trustpilot, Agent CRM, 2026-05-19)
  • Calls (18). Four different people ask how to export and keep call recordings for 10 years; numbers show as spam; "its not Medicare ready, a lot of customization required." (insurance-forums.com, 2024-12-22)
  • Money (15). $97–500 a month is steep for a solo agent; "Go High Level is $297/month to be HIPAA compliant." (insurance-forums.com, 2026-04-20); charged after cancelling, locked out of records.
  • Client base (14). Good for leads and marketing, weak for clients and the book; notes and tasks lost; imports fail. "There is not a single crm that does the job. You must start thinking you need TWO CRM's." (insurance-forums.com, 2020-11-17)
  • Support (13). "Every time I contacted customer service, they just told me to 'check tomorrow'—but nothing ever got resolved." (r/InsuranceAgent, 2025-03-27)
  • App, texting, other (17). Can't log in, send button under the keyboard; paid for texting that never switched on; no HIPAA agreement.

What they say they want

  • "A one stop shop to manage a book of businesses ... task lists ... a good quality dialer so you can call but that also supports three way or more calling" (r/InsuranceAgent, 2024-09-11)
  • "I'd like to be able to track clients, follow up on prospects/leads and also be able to email or send sms messages. Is there one that can do it all?" (insurance-forums.com, 2026-08-10)
  • "which will require me to record all my calls and store them in case I have a CTM." (r/InsuranceAgent, 2026-02-08)
  • "Pipelines built for quote → follow-up → bind → renewal" (r/gohighlevel, 2025-11-27)
  • "We'd like to have managers be able to see their team's leads and activity" (r/gohighlevel, 2025-04-07, a 150-agent agency)
  • "Is your program HIPAA compliant?" · "how do you bring quoting engines in?" · "Does it keep up with your commissions?" (YouTube comments, 2024–2026)
  • "Having an involved account manager for the first few weeks would have been nice." (G2, insurance agent, 2020-04-18)

Read together: the insurance complaint is less "the CRM is bad" than "the CRM is not built for us" — set it up yourself, keep your own recordings, pay extra for HIPAA, run the book somewhere else.

What the launch answers

Themes the launch copy must answer, ranked by how often users raise them. Each is a claim the product has to back; the copy names no competitor.

#ThemeApprox. recordsWhat the launch must say or show
1Cancelling is hard and you get charged anyway≈177A clear price before anything is switched on; a trial that ends by itself. Not answered head-on in copy.
2The mobile app won't open, logs you out, or crashes≈137The phone part has to work on day one or stay out of the launch.
3Support is slow or silent≈124A phone number and a person; the email signs off with it.
4Steep learning curve; needs a tech person or paid setup≈101No setup project: clients are already in the system; the webinar builds a case live, on the clock.
5Calls don't ring, drop, or sound bad≈91The call lands on the case; recording is the agent's choice.
6Texting registration rejected or stuck for weeks; licensed professionals refused≈78Registration is filed for the agent, as a licensed agent's line, and followed to approval.
7Hidden per-message, per-call, per-email fees≈69Included minutes and texts, then a stated price per unit.
8Push notifications missing: missed texts and leads≈56One notification, on time, with the text already on the case.
9Support staff untrained, contradictory answers≈55Folded into theme 3.
10Data locked in: no export, number tied to the platform, locked out on cancel≈47The agent's own number; everything exports; nothing held back on leaving.
11Email lands in spam; incoming mail doesn't sync≈53Send from the agent's own address; replies land on the case.
12Insurance-specific: recordings kept 10 years, HIPAA, book management, one system not two≈40Retention and export for audits in the IMO note; the case file already holds quotes, reports, and the E-App.

What the launch does not need to answer: websites and funnels (not in scope), platform outages (no honest promise possible), and the quotes and e-application layer, where the sources are nearly silent because the tool being replaced does not have it.
